%X Gender affirmation surgery is paramount in the treatment of gender dysphoria for transgender individuals. For transgender women, vaginoplasty offers the opportunity for removal of masculine-appearing genitalia and replacement with a gender-congruent appearance. While numerous techniques have been described in the past, approaches have standardized considerably. Herein, we describe a technique to penile inversion vaginoplasty and focus on some of the critical steps of the procedure to try to optimize patient outcomes. We also review relevant literature regarding perioperative outcomes.
