Dr. Ryan Smith is an Assistant Professor in Urology at the University of Virginia. He is the Associate Residency program director, co-director of the Andrology Fellowship and the medical student clerkship director. He attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and also completed his urology residency at the University of Virginia. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. He works in collaboration with Dr. Jeffrey Lysiak conducting basic science research in Andrology as well as clinical research at the University of Virginia. He has contributed multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of Andrology as well as multiple book chapters. Dr. Smith has been an invited speaker locally and nationally on various andrology subspecialty topics including male infertility, fertility preservation and testosterone therapy. He is fellowship trained in microsurgery and is an advocate for promoting men's health awareness and research.
