Dr. Sakti Das, a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Canada and fellow of the American College of Surgeons is a retired professor of Urology at Univ. of California, Davis, California. A graduate of University of Kolkata, India he did his post graduate study for Masters in Surgery at University of Delhi, India and then pursued post graduate studies in UK, US and Canada. Dr. Das completed his residency and fellowship in Urology at UCLA Medical Center and is board certified from American Board of Urology. Dr. Das has authored about 200 scientific articles and book chapters. He has edited and co-edited 11 textbooks in Urology including Genitourinary Cancer Surgery, Carcinoma of the Prostate, Laparoscopic Urology, Robotics in Urology, The Penis, Seminar in Urologic Oncology etc.

Dr. Das has trained many urology residents and fellows under his mentorship. He has been a visiting professor in several domestic and international urology programs. Dr. Das has been the historian of the American Urological Association. He has received several honorable citations from The American Urological Association for his philanthropic work in the developing world. He was awarded the Albert Schweitzer teaching award by the Societe Internationale d’Urologie. In his retired life he continues to pursue teaching in Global Surgery with international medical missions in the developing world. He supports many primary education centers and an orphanage in India, Kenya, Bangladesh and Niger.
