Background: To understand the common complications after varicocele and evaluate the established follow-up system.
Methods: Through the establishment of a well-structured follow-up team, the construction of a follow-up center information digitization platform, etc., the follow-up files of patients with varicocele surgery were collected and established, and the patients who underwent varicocele surgery in our hospital for three years were treated.
Results: In the past three years, there were more than 860 patients with varicocele surgery in our hospital. The clinical follow-up rate was >98%. During 2015–2017, the follow-up group had 4,110 regular telephone visits at 1, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months. The number of outpatient review was 855, and a total of 1598 B-ultrasounds were reviewed. Through follow-up team members’ planned and systematic work arrangements, early detection and treatment of various postoperative complications and adverse events have brought good benefits to patients.
Conclusions: The application of follow-up system after varicocele plays a vital role in the postoperative rehabilitation of patients, and improves the level of clinical diagnosis and treatment. It is of great significance for the connotation construction of clinical medical research.
