Background: To explore the application effect of optimizing nursing management concept to the perioperative period of the treatment for patients with partial nephrectomy.

Methods: 30 selected patients who underwent partial nephrectomy surgeon from July 2017–July 2018 were taken as optimizing nursing care group and the other 29 patients who received the same surgery from June 2016–June 2017 were taken as control group. The patients in the optimizing nursing care group were given optimizing nursing management care on admission, such as preoperative instruction, training on coughing up sputum, pain instruction, early ambulation and decrease preoperative fasting. The incidence of postoperative complications, days and cost of hospitalization were observed and compared between the two groups.

Results: The differences in the comparison of the incidence of postoperative complications, days and cost of hospitalization were statistically significant between the two groups (P <0.05).

Conclusions: The optimizing nursing management concept can reduce the incidence of complications, shorten the days of hospitalization and lower the cost of hospitalization in the surgical treatment of patients with partial nephrectomy.
