CU 11. A rare case of pyonephrosis resulting from tension - free vaginal tape procedure
A 50-yr-old woman presented recurrent urinary tract infection, fever and right flank pain after tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) surgery for stress urinary incontinence. After she was admitted, bilateral, complete, duplicated upper urinary tracts with ectopic ureteral orifices were identified by CT and retrograde urography. CT also revealed pyonephrosis of the right upper pelvis and ureter, the ectopic orifice of which might be destroyed by the TVT procedure. For patients with stress urinary incontinence, upper urinary tract examination should be considered before TVT surgery.
