CU 56. Early diagnosis and treatment of renal calculi complicated with tumor of renal pelvis: A report of 2 cases
Purpose: To discuss the clinical significance, diagnosis and treatment of renal calculi complicated with tumor of renal pelvis.
Methods: Retrospective Analysis of 2 cases of renal calculi complicated with tumor of renal pelvis, review the documents published.
Results: Both cases were not diagnosed preopratvely. One patient underwent nephroureterectomy with bladder-cuff excision and chemotherapy postoperatively. The pathological diagnosis was transitional cell carcinoma. Until now the patient is alive. The other patient did not have the chance to cut off the tumor. The pathological diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was dead 4 months after operation.
Conclusions: Concomitant occurrence of renal stone and renal pelvic tumor is difficult to be diagnosed early. Medical history, completely examination, findings in operation are all very important to early diagnosis and treatment of renal calculi complicated with tumor of renal pelvis.
