MR 05. Correlation of semen pH value with seminal parameters and seminal plasma biochemistry
Objective: To investigate the correlation of semen pH value with seminal parameters and seminal plasma biochemistry.
Methods: Totally 616 eligible semen samples collected from our center from February 2009 to March 2011 were reviewed and analyzed.
Results: Semen pH value showed positive correlations with seminal plasma elastase, A-grade semen percentage, prorsad-line velocity percentage, and survival semen percentage of the subjects (all P<0.05) and negative correlation with semen acid phosphatase and semen zincum (both P<0.05). It was not correlated with age of patient, semen fruit sugar, semen α-glycosidase, semen leucocyte, semen quantity, diffluence time, sperm concentration, and normal shape sperm quantity (all P>0.05).
Conclusions: Semen pH value has correlation with seminal parameters, almost seminal plasma biochemistry, And it has rather vital value to the infertile males'diagnosis and therapeutics with further research of the semen pH value.
